Most honeymooners spend a few nights in Cape Town. In Summer especially, Cape Town is a stunning and romantic city. The deap blue water lapping agains the mountainside, stunning views and friendly people. Not to mention the great restaurants and activities on offer.
Honeymooners of mine spend 4 nights at the Cape Grace, one of the premier hotels in Cape Town. Obviously this isn’t a cheapo hotel and you pay well for it. But with the Dollar Rand exchange rates at the moment, it doesn’t work out too expensive for tourists.
The Cape Grace Hotel is situated in the V&A Waterfront, a popular tourist area. The Waterfront has a large shopping mall, superb restaurants, boat rides, Robben Island ferry, the aquarium and countless other activities. From here you can also start pretty much any day tour your heart desires. Because of its situation, the Cape Grace clients are completely safe to walk around alone day and night.
Pampering and luxury abounds at the Cape Grace. This is one of the top hotels in Cape Town and a lot of thought has gone into providing a 5 star, world class experience. Honeymooners get bubbly in their room, a wine tasting and lecture on Cape Town and access to the spa facilities.
While here, my honeymooners enjoyed day tours with a private guide. This is the best way to see the city; with someone who knows all the best spots and can give you insight into our way of life.
Read feedback from honeymooners Mr and Mrs Winik from New York:
Cape Town: LOVED it… def think 3 days minimum is a must - so happy we had that extra day. Mark is THE BEST. We have had many guides in many other countries and no one as insightful, interesting and dedicated to his job. We were truly sad to say goodbye to him at the end of our stay. Found the Township tour, though depressing, extremely informative and interesting. The Cape Grace was fabulous- amazing! They made a big deal over the fact that it was our honeymoon and those extra touches (champagne etc) go SUCH a long way. Also, great value and excellent service. We were soooo pleased. Of course, the Cape Town highlight was meeting YOU and your husband and friends. That was so cool of you to include us in your fun and it was great to not (totally) feel like tourists for the night. I am downloading the music TOMORROW! (by the way any other African musicians i should look into for the ‘ole ipod?)
