I see I never published this post, so better late than never!!!!
Now that our wedding venue seems to be up in the air, I have been looking at having a marquee put up in my parents garden and having the whole wedding there. The garden is massive and beautifully kept with huge mountains on two sides, so it is the perfect venue.
I have been reluctant to have a marquee wedding because I don’t want the extra work of having to set it all up and decorate. I figured a restaurant was a lot easier and probably less expensive as well when you consider the cost of hiring a tent!
Hiring a tent is massively expensive, but interestingly I came across Tentation, who are substantially cheaper than the rest and come recommended by a friend who used them. Just to put it into perspective, I got three quotes, one came back at R33000, one at R22000 and Tentation came back at R12000 plus he included lighting and tables and chairs.
